Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics

The department of conservative dentistry & endodontics was established at Al Azhar Dental College since the beginning of the institution in the year 2007. This branch of dentistry specializes in three main areas of dental health:

Prevention of diseases and defects of teeth.
Restoration of normal function of teeth.
Enhancement of aesthetics.

Endodontics is a part of this department dealing with the diseases of dental pulp and surrounding tissue. The treatment offered here ranges from the traditional silver amalgam restorations to the more modern and esthetic composite and ceramic restorations. Our primary goal is to provide the best clinical care while giving equal importance to impart excellent training to undergraduates under the supervision of experienced and enthusiastic faculty.

The Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics is a distinguished and progressive unit of the institution, committed to academic excellence, clinical proficiency, and research advancement.
The specialty encompasses prevention of dental caries, restoration of diseased teeth to functional and esthetic normalcy, and comprehensive endodontic care.
The department provides a structured academic environment that promotes competency-based education, ethical practice, and professional values among students and faculty. Emphasis is placed on integrating theoretical knowledge with clinical application.
The department is well-equipped with advanced infrastructure and modern technologies, including dental operating microscopes, intraoral scanning systems, laser treatments and facilities for endodontic surgical procedures, enabling students to gain exposure to contemporary treatment modalities. Clinical training is supported by standardized protocols, strict infection control measures, and the use of a wide range of restorative materials.
A conducive teaching-learning environment is maintained through systematic methodologies, continuous assessment, and interdisciplinary collaboration, with special emphasis on esthetic dentistry and recent advances in endodontics.
Since its inception in 2007, the department has consistently contributed to the development of competent graduates prepared for careers in clinical practice, academics, and research.
