Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics

The Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics at Al Azhar Dental College has been an integral part of the institution since its establishment in 2007. The department is dedicated to excellence in restorative, esthetic, and endodontic dentistry, with a strong emphasis on preserving natural dentition through evidence-based treatment approaches.

•Conservative Dentistry focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of diseases and defects affecting the teeth, while restoring optimal form, function, and esthetics. The specialty involves Adhesive Dentistry, Biomimetic Dentistry, Digital Dentistry including Intraoral scanners, Digital radiography and Designing software assisted treatment, Laser Dentistry and Minimally Invasive Dentistry, enabling the delivery of highly precise and patient-centered care.

•Endodontics, a specialized branch within the department, is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases involving the dental pulp and periapical tissues. The department provides comprehensive endodontic care ranging from conventional root canal therapy to advanced retreatment procedures, trauma management, endodontic surgeries and management of complex multi disciplinary cases using modern technologies and contemporary protocols.

•Smile Designing Clinic operates within the department, offering a wide spectrum of cosmetic dental procedures, especially digital smile design and correction, including advanced aesthetic restoration and prosthetic rehabilitation using premium technological aids. Emphasis is placed on integrating advanced materials, precision-driven techniques, and modern clinical protocols to achieve predictable functional and esthetic outcomes.

The specialty encompasses prevention of dental caries, restoration of diseased teeth to functional and esthetic normalcy, and comprehensive endodontic care.
The department provides a structured academic environment that promotes competency-based education, ethical practice, and professional values among students and faculty. Emphasis is placed on integrating theoretical knowledge with clinical application.
The department is well-equipped with advanced infrastructure and modern technologies, including dental operating microscopes, intraoral scanning systems, laser treatments and facilities for endodontic surgical procedures, enabling students to gain exposure to contemporary treatment modalities.
