An outreach program aims to help, uplift and support those who are deprived of certain services and rights. It involves giving learning, social planning and health support. The primary purpose of community health outreach programs is to offer services to educate residents on what resources are available to help them take control of their oral health.
Outreach is the activity of providing services to any population that might not otherwise have access to those services. It includes identification of under-served populations and service referral and the use of outreach tools like leaflets, newsletters, advertising stalls and displays, and dedicated events. An outreach program is a complete entanglement between the community and the oral healthcare institute or organizations. Outreach programs not only benefit the community but also the oral health-care professional. Outreach activities develop learning and applying knowledge to studies, community services, a sense of responsibility toward the unreached communities, advancing both oral health-care professionals and the community; reflection and feedback on the experience to improve and sustain the process; and a partnership between communities.
We have two MOUs signed with Mariyasadanam,Pala and Divyarakshalayam,Thodupuzha where monthly regular outreach programs are conducted.
